Stand Corrected Editing
Many writers worldwide send their manuscripts to agents in the hope of representation, but just as many face countless rejections and are left without the knowledge of what is going wrong. So, in the cosy winter of 2019, I launched Stand Corrected Editing to provide writers with editorial feedback and advice on how to prepare for submission or self-publication.
Most literary consultancies have a large team of editors, but at the moment, it's just me.
Since a young age, I have been fascinated with stories and words, so once I completed higher education at Bournemouth University, I knew I wanted to launch my own business in that area. My degree in English has broadened my knowledge of how novels should be structured and written; what makes a good story; how to sell yourself to agents and publishers; and how to edit a draft into a masterpiece. I have also completed diploma courses in Creative Writing, Novel Writing, and Proofreading & Editing.
When I am not editing or promoting Stand Corrected Editing, I am working as a part-time library assistant, reading piles of books, and working on my own stories.
In 2019, I published Two Birds with One Stone, a short tale that centres around Greek mythology. I am currently in the middle of writing a children's fantasy series, an Arthurian adventure, and an epistolary novel about life in an asylum in the 1930s.
